Who We Are

It all started with a hat. My mother used to take any hat that I wore off my head and playfully say she was going to keep it. Growing up this became a tradition.  When she was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, she gradually faded from the rock-solid foundation that built me, to needing to be taken care of. I was happy to return the favor.

Every morning that I saw her, she continued to playfully snatch my hat. She had the biggest and brightest smile every single time. As her disease progressed, she did this less and less, and it often brought me to tears because of how much I missed it.

BGEAR was created as a movement of passion to commemorate those that we love. Everybody has had a loved one affected by something, and we must ask the question,

Who's Gonna Take Care Of Me?

It is our vision that what you choose to wear sends a message and helps you preserve heartfelt memories. We combine style, comfort, and passion into products that leave you looking good, feeling good, and doing good for others!

Why we do what we do

BGEAR products come from one man’s “LOVE” for his mother due to Alzheimer's. After realizing his mother could no longer play keep-away with his hat due to her deteriorating health, Butch Grimes created a clothing line that reminds consumers of youth's comfort and simplicity. A portion of BGEAR's proceeds goes to Alzheimer's and dementia-related causes. Within every "BGEAR Hat Box," there will be a QR code that will direct you to a page of Resources & Tips to assist with caring for those inflicted by Alzheimer's/Dementia.

A portion of the proceeds will go to the 501c3 nonprofit “Who's Gonna Take Care Of Me," which greatly educates and provides resources for families on the front line daily with their loved ones. The goal is to provide necessities, briefs, toiletries, and much more to families that cannot provide the basics due to the rising costs of caring for an Alzheimer’s patient.
